This is the site that has the most stitches (or knots as they would be called working with string) I searched the butterfly stitch page for you:
http://www.bluemoon.net/~dotoran/prj_butterfly_stitch.htm
Alternative address and different page:
http://www.boondoggleman.com/look_in_tin.htm

More ways to tie, and things to make you find in the scoubibou sites:
http://www.scoubiguide.co.uk/
http://www.yoarra.nl/eng/ (most ideas are in the Dutch pages.)

go to lanyard.com
or buy another kit

1.Tie 2 pieces together w/ an overhead knot at least 2" from ends.
2.Bring the long end of #1 piece through the knot call it strand A. Leave a small loop of strand A on 1 side of the loop.
3.Hold the weaving with the loop facing up. Make a small loop with strand B, close to the knot. Fit loop B inside loop A.
4. Pull strand A to tighten the loop around loop B.
5. Fit a loop of strand A inside loop B.
6. Fit a loop of strand B inside loop A. Pull strand A to tighten the loop around loop B. Continue to repeat steps 5 and 6 until you have a braid of desired length. Make a knot after the last stich.

A seris of loops in each other.
I hope this helps.
A bit confusing sorry.
